Learn all about what makes toilet paper safe for use in an RV or camper. Do you need specialty toilet paper or not?

In order to prevent clogs and other issuers, any toilet paper used in a  camper needs to easily dissolve in the RV black holding tank.

Fortunately, there is a simple test to check if toilet paper is appropriate for RV use. You'll need the TP, water and a jar.

Simply, place a few sheets of the toilet paper in a jar of water, then shake twice and let sit for one hour.

If the toilet paper fully dissolves within one hour, it is appropriate for use in an RV toilet. If not, don't use it!

Here are some other RV holding tanks tips and tricks to prevent nasty black water issues.

Buy a reverse flush valve: a simple device to easily break up black tank clogs when they occur in your RV.

Always dump the black tank first, so the hose is cleaned with gray water when the RV gray tanks are dumped.
