Bunkhouse travel trailers are a popular option for traveling families. However, with so many brands and floorplans available, it can be hard to choose the perfect RV. To help, we’ve done the research for you and found the 12 best bunkhouse travel trailers.

We’ve separated our list of the best travel trailers with bunkhouses into small, medium, and large trailers so it is easy to find an RV that meets your size and budget requirements.

Best Bunkhouse Travel Trailers Under 25 Feet

If you are looking for a small RV that is affordable and easy to tow, consider a bunkhouse travel trailer under 25 feet. These RVs may be small, but they have plenty of sleeping space for the whole family.

Winnebago Micro Minnie 1800BH

Length: 21 feet, 11 inches

The Micro Minnie 1800BH is the smallest bunkhouse travel trailer on our list. At just under 22 feet long and 7 feet wide, this trailer is tiny but has everything you need for a family camping trip. The single bunk beds are located on the driver-side rear corner of the RV.

The dinette can also be converted into another bed. A double bed is located in the front of the RV trailer. While many small travel trailer bunkhouses have a flip-up bed, this bed is permanent, so it does not require any effort to set up.

This mini trailer is also a fully self-contained vehicle. It has a 3-piece bathroom with a porcelain toilet beside the bunks. The galley kitchen has a fridge, a 3-burner cooktop, and a convection microwave.

Heartland Pioneer PI 17B

Length: 20 feet, 11 inches

The Heartland Pioneer PI 17B is another tiny, but functional bunkhouse travel trailer. Single bunk beds in the rear corner provide sleeping space for 2 kids. While, a queen-sized bed turned sideways in the front of the trailer provides a comfortable space for the parents.

The galley kitchen includes a refrigerator, a 2-burner cooktop, and a microwave oven. Next to the bunks is a bathroom with a bathtub, so small children can continue their bathing routine while camping.

Keystone Springdale 2010BH

Length: 22 feet, 9 inches

The Springdale 2010BH has a very similar layout to the Heartland Pioneer except it has double bunks in the rear corner of the RV, so it can sleep 4 kids.

Additional sleeping spaces include a convertible dinette booth and a fixed queen bed at the front of the trailer. At 8 feet wide, the trailer also has room for a closet, nightstand, and outlets beside the bed.

A 3-piece bathroom is located beside the bunks, and the kitchen includes a 2-burner cooktop, a fridge, and a microwave. A pantry beside the kitchen provides extra food and appliance storage.

Forest River Ibex 19MBH

Length: 24 feet, 8 inches

I own a Forest River Ibex travel trailer, and their 19MBH floorplan is a great small trailer for families with kids. This simple-to-use, no-slide model is equipped with double bunks in the back.

The bottom bunk folds up, and can be accessed from an outside door, creating a storage space for larger items. In the front of the trailer, a Murphy bed provides sleeping space for the adults.

Next to the bunks is a 3-piece bathroom. There is also a full kitchen and a booth dinette. This trailer is also ready to go off-grid. The mandatory XLT solar package includes a 200W panel, a 30A charge controller, and 2000-watt inverter prep.

Ember Overland Series 221MSL

Length: 26 feet, 1 inch

If your family loves off-road adventures, Ember’s Overland Series travel trailers are amazing campers. These trailers include a heavy-duty chassis, an independent suspension with heavy-duty coil springs and dual shock absorbers, and off-road tires.

The 221MSL floorplan is the largest Ember Overland floorplan and can sleep up to six people. The rear bunk area includes an Embertrack system with adjustable, removable bunks. When the bunks are raised or removed, a rear storage door allows the bunk area to be used for kayak or bike storage

In addition to the bunks, there is a jackknife sofa and queen Murphy bed. The trailer has a full bathroom and a kitchen with a 2-burner cooktop and a 12-volt refrigerator. This RV is also ready for off-grid camping with solar panels and an inverter.

Coachman Apex Ultra-Lite 245BHS

Length: 27 feet, 7 inches

The Coachman Apex Ultra-Lite 245BHS is a great midsize bunkhouse travel trailer. At 7.5 feet wide and just 6,500 pounds, this travel trailer is easy to tow but has plenty of space.

The double bunks are located in the rear corner of the trailer. Unlike smaller bunkhouses, the Apex has a private main bedroom, separated from the living area by an entertainment center and two curtains.

A U-shaped dinette provides plenty of seating space, and the kitchen comes with a range with a 3-burner cooktop and an oven. The full bathroom has a shower/tub combo to make bathing kids and dogs easier.

Grand Design Imagine 2800BH

Length: 32 feet, 0 inches

Another awesome midsize travel trailer with bunk beds is the Grand Design Imagine 2800BH. The double bunks are located in the rear corner of the RV next to the full bathroom.

The main bedroom in the front of the trailer has a queen bed and a sliding door for complete privacy. There is plenty of seating in the spacious living area, which includes a U-shaped dinette and a tri-fold sofa.

The kitchen includes a range, a microwave, a refrigerator, and tons of storage space. Additional storage can be found under the bed. The oversized under-bed storage includes a sliding storage tray to provide easy access to regularly used items.

Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 30BHS

Length: 34 feet, 5 inches

We toured hundreds of RVs at this year’s Florida RV SuperShow, and the Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 30BHS was by far my favorite bunkhouse floorplan. The unique layout includes rear bunks that extend the width of the RV.

The position of the bunks creates a separate area for kids and makes the beds more accessible. In the front of the RV is a large, private bedroom with a king bed. The bathroom sits between the living area and the bedroom.

The main living area includes an L-shaped dinette, a tri-fold sofa, and a fireplace. The kitchen has a full range, a microwave, a double sink, a 12-volt fridge, and plenty of counter space. Arched rafters create a spacious interior with 7-foot ceilings.

Brinkley Model Z AIR 295

Length: 34 feet, 9 inches

At just under 35 feet, the AIR 295 has plenty of space for the whole family. The simple kid’s room in the rear of the trailer features two large bunks turned sideways so they fit the entire width of the room and floor-to-ceiling storage cabinets.

The front of the RV houses the main bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Outside the bedroom is the beautiful three-piece bathroom. A dual-access storage closet can be accessed from both the bathroom and bedroom.

The main living area includes a beautiful kitchen with black appliances and high-end residential furniture. A huge sofa takes up the entire living room slide and has three reclienrs built-in.

Best Large Bunkhouse Travel Trailers

Campers with a big budget will love these enormous bunkhouse travel trailers with luxury features. Enjoy glamping all over the country without having to worry about feeling cramped.

Crossroads Volante VL32FB

Length: 35 feet, 11 inches

The Crossroads Volante VL32FB is a beautiful travel trailer with lots of practical features. The front of the RV houses a private, secondary bedroom with queen-over-queen bunks, a large wardrobe closet, and a chic wood panel wall.

In the back of the trailer is the main bedroom with a king bed and its own entry door. The dual-entry bathroom sits beside the rear bedroom.

The main living area includes a huge dinette, a jackknife sofa, and a fireplace. The L-shaped kitchen includes stainless steel appliances and a double sink.

Heartland Trail Runner 31DB

Length: 36 feet, 11 inches

The second Heartland RV on our list of the best bunkhouse travel trailers is the Trail Runner 31DB. This big rig has much more space and many more exciting features than the tiny Pioneer.

The rear of the RV houses an entire kids’ suite. Inside the suite is a private bedroom with a single over double bunk bed, a shirt closet, and a half bathroom. In the front of the trailer is a main bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom.

In the main living area, there is a dinette booth and a large sofa. The corner kitchen features bright, white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. Perhaps the most unique feature of this RV is the huge pantry, located behind the TV next to the entry door.

Venture SportTrek ST333VIK

Length: 37 feet, 8 inches

Another amazing (and enormous) rear bunkhouse travel trailer is the Venture SportTrek ST333VIK. The bunkroom includes a normal-height single bed, and a raised top bunk which sits over a storage cabinet.

The lower bed is perfect both for smaller children who are at risk of falling from higher bunks and teenagers who need more headroom. The huge bunkroom is also great for teenagers because it also has a sofa (with another flip-up bunk above it), a table, and a flip-up desk.

Outside the bunkroom is a full (second) bathroom. The other bathroom is located in the front of the trailer next to the main bedroom with a queen bed.

While the bunkroom is the star of this RV, the main living area does not disappoint either. With the optional king dinette, the combination sofa/dining area can comfortably seat 5 to 6 people. The large kitchen has an island and a hutch that makes a perfect coffee station.
