The Bay Area includes San Francisco, San Jose and the surrounding region. These luxury RV resorts in California’s Bay Area are the best places to stay to explore the city.
Coyote Valley RV Resort
Located just 20 minutes from San Jose, Coyote Valley RV Resort is an awesome South Bay destination. The RV park has 127 deluxe campsites, which include concrete pads, full hookups, 100-amp plugins, free Wi-Fi and free satellite TV.
Campers receive discounted rates at the connected Coyote Valley Golf Club. For a true luxury experience, campers can schedule a ride to and from their site on the resort’s golf cart limousine.
Back at the RV Resort, there are plenty of other luxury amenities for campers who do not golf. There is a large saltwater pool and spa, as well as, several outdoor game areas. Even puppies are spoiled at Coyote Valley, which offers a fenced-in dog park as well as dog walking services.
Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday
Located a bit further south of San Jose than Coyote Valley, the Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday is a great family-friendly luxury RV resort in California. The KOA campground offers over 100 RV campsites with full hookups.
For an upgraded camping experience, travelers should reserve one of the patio sites which have private outdoor sitting spaces. Some patio sites have a private deck overlooking the pool, while others back-up to a nature preserve for a quieter experience.
While not all KOA campgrounds are luxury resorts, this KOA Holiday has all the amenities of a family-friendly premium resort. These high-end features include a heated swimming pool that is open year-round, a hot tub, a huge playground, an outdoor movie theater and large camp store.

San Francisco RV Resort
In terms of proximity to all of the city’s attractions, San Francisco RV Resort is the best RV park. The campground is located on the Pacific Ocean within a 15-minute drive of the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf.
The resort has 150 RV campsites with full hookups. Although this RV resort is the most luxurious in the city, the RV campsites are very close together with limited landscaping between sites.
For a better experience, book a premium site which have small grass lawns and picnic tables.
We selected this resort because of its location, but it does also offer some premium amenities. Campground features include a fenced children’s playground, a swimming pool and a hot tub. There are also a picnic area, laundry facilities and a camp store.
Luxury RV Resorts near California’s Southern Coast
Campers interested in sand and sunshine should book one of these luxury RV resorts on the southern California coast between San Diego and Los Angeles.
Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort and Campground
Located just half an hour east of downtown Los Angeles, Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort and Campground is a lakeside retreat. The large campground offers over 500 spacious RV campsites with full hookups and paved pads.
Every site has a grass lawn, and many sites offer views of the beautiful Puddingstone Lake. This luxury RV resort has two swimming pools: one for families and one reserved exclusively for adult use.
Other amenities include a fishing beach, a children’s playground, a sand volleyball court and other sports courts. A large resort market carries camping necessities, food, wine, beer and souvenirs.
The RV resort is located right next to the gates of Frank G Bonelli Park, where campers can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, swimming beaches and more.
Newport Dunes RV Resort
One of the nicest luxury RV resorts in California, Newport Dunes RV Resort is part of the larger Newport Waterfront Resort and Marina. The RV resort offers hundreds of RV campsites with full hookups.
The most luxurious campsites are the beachfront campsites, which sit steps from the sand in front of the bay. These premium sites are over 1200 square feet in size.
Campers at the Newport Dunes RV Resort have access to all of the same premium amenities as hotel guests. These luxury features include a private beach and a pool complex with two spas, a wading pool and a heated lap pool.
Cabanas and poolside dining are also available at the swimming complex. Other fun activities include a water park and water sport and boat rentals.
Paradise by the Sea RV Resort
Another awesome RV park by the beach, Paradise by the Sea RV Resort is located in Oceanside, California. The park is located just across the street (a 200-yard walk) from the beautiful Buccaneer Beach.
The RV resort has just under 100 campsites, all of which have full hookups, cable TV, Wi-Fi and paved pads.
With just a three-minute walk down the resort’s trail to the beach, campers could entertain themselves all day in the sand and the waves. However, there is also plenty to do at the resort.
Fun amenities include a heated swimming pool and spa, a fire pit area, a relaxation garden and a recreation room with a pool table and shuffleboard.
Luxury RV Resorts near California’s Southern Desert
A couple of hours east of California’s southern coast is California’s desert region. In addition the vast landscapes, the desert region also offers oasis resort towns, such as Palm Springs, that house some of the best luxury RV resorts in California.

For seniors who prefer an adults-only resort, The Sands RV and Golf Resort is one of the best 55+ luxury RV resorts in California. Located in Desert Hot Springs, The Sands has almost 200 RV campsites with full hookups and landscaping for privacy between sites.
The campsites have gravel pads with concrete patios. Stunning views of the San Jacinto Mountains surround the resort.

Ramblin’ Redwoods Campground

The best campsites in the resort are the riverfront campsites, which have water views and large yards.
There are also many luxurious amenities at Red Bluff. The year-round outdoor swimming pool has cabanas with shade and lounge furniture that campers can rent. There is also a hot tub, a fenced dog park, a basketball half court, bocce ball, horseshoes and three fishing ponds.
