Michigan has a lot to offer RV travelers, including beautiful lake beaches, extensive forests and city life. However, not all Michigan RV parks and campgrounds are built equal.

The following luxury RV resorts are all located in the eastern half of Michigan. Stay at these RV parks to enjoy everything from luxury nature retreats to the attractions of the Detroit Metro area.
Harbortown RV Resort
Located in Monroe, Michigan, between Detroit and Toledo, Harbortown RV Resort is one the best family-friendly luxury RV Resorts in Michigan.
This RV park has over 200 RV sites, many of which are pull-thrus and offer full hookups. All of the RV campsites are large with paved pads. The resort is open year round.
Luxury amenities at Harbortown include many kid-friendly features. Camping kids and their parents will love playing in the outdoor swimming pool, taking a swing in the batting cage, racing on the go cart track, playing games in the arcade and putting on the miniature golf course.
The resort also hosts fun events and themed-weekend during the summer camping season.
Northpointe Shores RV Resort
Situated on Anchor Bay with access to Lake St. Clair, Northpointe Shores RV Resort is an awesome luxury resort less than an hour from Detroit.
The small resort offers 34 RV campsites, all of which have paved pads, patios, full hookups and free Wi-Fi. Northpointe Shores is open from May through October.

At the RV park, campers will enjoy a fitness room, pavilion and a beautiful community campfire area that overlooks the water.
Sun Outdoors Detroit West
Sun Outdoors Detroit West is located in New Hudson, a peaceful country setting near many of the popular attractions in Metro Detroit. The luxury Michigan RV park offers over 400 campsites, many of which offer full hookups.
The prime sites have full hookups and back-up directly onto one of the resort’s lakes. This RV park is open from April through October.
The focus of this luxury RV resort is the water. Each of the resort’s four spring-fed lakes offers both fishing access and swimming beaches.
Other high-end amenities include an indoor game room, a two-hole golf course, sand volleyball and other sports courts. The park also offers a children’s playground, an on-site store and planned activities in the summer season.
Thunder Bay Resort RV Park
Located in northeast Michigan, Thunder Bay Resort RV Park is part of a larger resort. The small RV park at Thunder Bay has 23 campsites with full hookups, grass lawns, paved pads and patios.
The RV park is open from April through October or November, depending on weather conditions.
This luxury RV park sites directly on the resort’s 18-hole golf course. The main attraction at Thunder Bay is its romantic elk viewing tours. The resort offers elk viewing tours by horse drawn carriage or sleigh.

The following luxury RV resorts are located in the Western half of the state on or near the shores of Lake Michigan. Visit western Michigan to enjoy beautiful scenery and summer fun on the lake.
Eastpointe RV Resort
Located in the heart of Western Michigan on the Grand River, Eastpointe RV Resort is one of Michigan’s best waterfront luxury RV resorts. All of the campsites at Eastpointe include paved pads, full hookups, cable, Wi-Fi and patio areas.
Some of the sites back-up directly to the river for incredible water views. The resort is open from May through October.
Eastpointe has all of the amenities campers look for at luxury RV resorts. The facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with a large hot tub and shaded bar area.
Other amenities include pickle ball courts, a fitness center, a general store and boat slips. There is also a river walk connected to the campground where campers can walk, jog or bike along the river.
Indigo Bluffs RV Resort
Indigo Bluffs RV Resort, in the northwestern section of the state, made our list of luxury RV resorts in Michigan because it has some of the most luxurious campsites in the country. The RV park at Indigo Bluffs offers spacious, shaded full hookup RV sites.
However, the true luxury is at Indigo’s RV Resort area. The resort area has a separate entrance and features 46 exclusive campsites with full hookups, stamped concrete pads and patios. Each site has its own beautiful patio and landscaping.
The resort is open from May to October. In addition to the wonderful campsites, Indigo Bluffs also offers several luxury community amenities.
These high-end features include a heated, outdoor swimming pool, broadband Wi-Fi, a camp store, a farm stand, a fenced dog park and an outdoor gaming area.
Sun Outdoors Petoskey Bay Harbor
The second Sun Outdoors resort on our list, Petoskey Bay Harbor is located in the Lower Peninsula, known as the Crown Jewel of Michigan. The RV resort offers over 100 campsites with full hookups, manicured lawns and concrete pads.
For the most luxurious experience, book the coach house site, which includes a coach house, a built-in grill, an exterior fireplace and a brick paver patio. The resort is open from April through October.
Luxury amenities at this gated RV resort include a clubhouse with billiards tables, pickle ball courts, a movie theater room with reclining chairs, a putting green and a fitness center. The resort also has a temperature-controlled, outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub.
Vacation Station RV Resort
Families seeking a kid-friendly luxury RV resort in Western Michigan should check out Vacation Station RV Resort in Ludington.
The resort features over 200 RV campsites that all include full hookups, cable TV, Wi-Fi, fire pits and large grass lawns with professional landscaping. The resort is open from mid-April through the end of October.
The first luxury amenity at Vacation Station is an outdoor swimming pool with a separate hot tub and plenty of lounge chairs for campers who prefer to sunbathe.
The park also offers a large playground, lawn chess and checkers, pickle ball courts, Gaga pits, train rides and a fishing pond. To get around the RV park in style, campers can rent bicycles or golf carts.
Best Luxury RV Resorts in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is known for its beautiful forests and vast lake shores. The “luxury” RV resorts on the UP are not quite as upscale as many lower peninsula resorts, but they all offer full hookups and beautiful scenery.
Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground
Located in Cooper Harbor, on the Keweenaw Peninsula, Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground is one of the best RV resorts on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The RV campground at Lake Fanny Hooe offers a variety of campsites, including some full hookup RV sites.
Located in a forest setting, the campground is peaceful and has its own trout stream. The resort offers the best of both worlds as it borders 250,000 acres of wilderness, but is also walking distance to local shops and restaurants.
For glampers who prefer not to do their own cooking, Lake Fanny Hooe has an on-site restaurant and bar serving three meals a day and signature cocktails.
Campers will also enjoy the resort’s amenities, including canoe and kayak rentals, a children’s playground, a private, sandy swimming beach and clubhouse with arcade games.
Rippling River Resort and Campground
Another waterfront nature resort, Rippling River is located on 57 acres on the Carp River. Rippling River Resort offers full hookup RV campsites with fire pits, picnic tables and free Wi-Fi.
The campground is open all year, but water and sewer hookups are not available in the winter.
While most campers come to Rippling River to enjoy the vast outdoor recreational opportunities nearby, the resort has plenty of luxury amenities to enjoy after a day of adventure.
The upscale features include a heated outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a miniature golf course and an on-site bar serving beer, wine, cocktails and pizza.
Silver Lake Resort Campground
Silver Lake Resort Campground is located just north of Channing, Michigan, nestled within hundreds of miles of state forest lands. The small campground includes 24 RV sites with full hookups, as well as an additional 12 campsites with water and electric hookups.
All campers also have access to high-speed, fiber-optic fed Wi-Fi. The campground is open from April to November.
One of the biggest luxuries at Silver Lake Resort is convenience. Campers never need to leave the resort as the on-site camp store sells gas, groceries, alcohol, bait and tackle.
The campground also has an espresso bar and sells take-out food, including subs, pizza and chicken. The newest luxury amenity at Silver Lake Resort is a beautiful par three, nine-hole golf course. If you do not travel with clubs, they are provided for no additional fee.
St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA Holiday
Last, but not least on our list of luxury RV resorts in Michigan is the St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA Holiday. Located near the southern tip of the Upper Peninsula, the KOA offers over 100 RV campsites and several rental cabins.
For the best RV camping experience, book one of the Patio sites which are pull-thru sites with full hookups, concrete pads and patio furniture. The campground opens at the end of April and closes for the season in late October.
The best campground to stay at for day trips to Mackinac Island, the KOA even offers free shuttle service to the ferry.
