Most motorhomes come with an onboard generator, so campers can use their appliances even when they are not plugged into shore power. However, most towable RVs do not come with onboard generators.
Fortunately, there are some fifth wheels and travel trailers being built for off-grid adventures. Here are the 10 best travel trailers with a built-in generator.

For campers looking for small travel trailers with a built-in generator, the Bigfoot 2500 series is the solution. These small travel trailers are between 17 and 25 feet long. All of the Bigfoot trailers have the option for a Cummins 2.5kw propane generator.
Other cool features in these fiberglass RVs include stainless steel appliances, solar panel preps, and dual propane tanks. The twin-bed floor plan is a great option for solo travelers or friends traveling together.
Forest River XLR Boost
XLR Boost is a brand of toy hauler travel trailers made by Forest River. The XLR Boost floor plans range from 26 to 39 feet long, making them a great option for everyone from solo travelers to large families.
These Forest River toy haulers come with a 30-gallon fuel station and the option for a built-in 4.5 or 6.0 NPS generator.
Other great features for adventurous campers include huge freshwater tanks, safety glass windows, and an optional 1800-watt inverter.

Keystone Fuzion Impact Edition
Another brand of toy haulers with the option for onboard generators is the Keystone Fuzion Impact Edition. The Fuzion Impact travel trailers range from 28 feet to 37 feet long.
With the optional upgrade, these RVs come equipped with an Onan 4000-watt gasoline generator or an Onan 5500 watt gasoline generator.
Other premium features of these toy haulers include 200 watts of solar power on the roof, a 30-gallon fuel station, 60 to 100 gallon freshwater tanks, and modern, carpet-free interiors.
KZ Sportster X
KZ Sportster X is another line of toy hauler travel trailers and fifth wheels with included onboard generators. Sportster X RVs include a 30-gallon fuel station and a 4.0 onboard generator.
Other desirable features include solar roof prep, a 200W solar panel, and a patio rail kit for the garage ramp door. Sportster also makes fifth wheels with optional generators.
Northwood Nash
Northwood’s Nash line of travel trailers comes with the option for a built-in 2.5 or 3.6 Onan LP generator. Nash travel trailers are available in several floor plans ranging from 22 to 32 feet long.
All of these RVs were built with off-grid adventures in mind. Features that make dry camping easier include an off-road chassis, 200 to 400 watts of solar, and inverters.
Fifth Wheel RVs with a Built-In Generator

Other premium features of the brand include 17.5-inch Goodyear tires, tinted safety glass windows, 100-gallon fresh water tanks, and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher.
Some of the floorplans even have a ceiling fan to help keep the RV cool when the generator isn’t running.
Jayco North Point
North Point is a brand of Jayco fifth wheels with luxury interiors and the option for a built-in generator. These fifth wheels range from 36 feet to 44 feet long. All new models have the option to include a 5,500-watt Onan Microquiet generator.
Other notable features of the North Point line include vinyl flooring throughout, a Magnum Truss roof system with a 20-year warranty, a 12-volt charging station, and a JayVoice voice command system.
Keystone Alpine
Alpine fifth wheels are luxury RVs manufactured by Keystone. The Alpine floor plans start at 36 feet long and go up to a maximum length of 43 feet long. All of the Alpine floor plans come with the option for a 5,550-watt Cummins Onan LP gas generator.
For even more off-grid power, all Alpine fifth wheels also come equipped with a SolarFlex package that includes 200 watts of solar on the roof.
Even though these RVs are ready for adventure, they have luxury interiors with stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer preps, and on-demand water heaters.
Northwood Arctic Fox Grande Ronde
Last, but not least on our list of travel trailers with a built-in generator is the Arctic Fox Grande Ronde. Like the Arctic Fox travel trailers, the Grande Ronde fifth wheels also come with the option for a built-in generator.
Depending on the floor plan, the Grande Ronde fifth wheels can include an optional 3.6 Onan LP generator or 5.5 Onan Gold LP generator.
